Little Adelaide’s First Big Review: The Biggest Little Farm
Last night we received a special gift of tickets to a film screening - The Biggest Little Farm, at the Open Roof Festival. Mom, Dad and Adelaide had the most amazing time and we thought we’d let Adelaide tell you all about the experience from her perspective. Enjoy!
Hi friends! It’s Adelaide here. Last night was really neat. When we arrived, mom and dad were chatting with a nice lady from Open Farm who gave us the chance to come! This nice lady also gave me some new treats I hadn’t tried until last night - cod skins! They were delicious!
After meeting the nice lady, I got to meet a new fluffy friend! Sophie the Pomeranian was a little shy but her mom was super friendly and I think Sophie warmed up to me eventually. I can be a lot sometimes so I totally get it. My new fluffy friend is also on Instagram so I can’t wait to be friends. She even has fridge magnets with her face on them! #goals
Next up on the list of activities, I got to listen to a new kind of music... jazz! A cool band played jazz music while mom and dad took some cute pics of me. The sun was going down and dad said it was the perfect hour for photos.
I felt so special last night when humans wanted my picture! I could get used to this. Free treats and a goodie bag with stew? Don’t mind if I do! Mom and dad had popcorn because movies call for popcorn, or at least that’s what mom always says. Mom and dad gave me lots of treats and I started getting sleepy. Don’t worry though, I’m such a good movie watcher, I can enjoy it even with my eyes closed!
The movie had so many cool sounds... birds chirping, bees buzzing, cows mooing, piglets squealing, wind blowing, rain dropping, fire crackling, coyotes howling, roosters crowing, sheep making that baaaaaaa sound they do, and my personal favorite - dogs barking!
The movie was about a husband and wife that decided to start a BIG little farm all because of the most important thing in their life - their dog (obviously). Their dog, Todd, barked too much for their landlord’s liking, so they decided to open a really cool farm so Todd could be free to bark as loudly and proudly as he wanted to! What a great idea! I think my mom and dad love me that much too. I don’t know if they’d open a farm for me, but I haven’t learned to bark yet so I think we’re ok for condo living for now!
Mom and dad loved the beautiful shots of nature and animals. I hope dad gets inspired to take more cool artsy videos of me.
I didn’t like the scary parts when coyotes hunted the chickens. I definitely had to close my eyes and ears for that part. I also had no idea that ducks eat snails! I wonder if I should try that sometime. I thought it was really cool when Emma the pig made friends with Greasy the rooster. I hope this means that opposites attract. Maybe I could make friends with a horse someday!
Best part was that the movie seemed to make a lot of humans happy. I especially loved when everybody “aww”-ed when dogs came on the screen. I just kept thinking, “hey... I wanna play with you too!” Dogs are the best. Big little farms are cool. I’ll always be a city dog but I’m really glad I got to see this movie and meet some really cool peeps. Also food. I love food.
Thanks again to Open Farm for the invite to this fun night out with Mom and Dad.
